Dehradun Nagar Nigam is implementing first Solar City Plan in Uttrakhand and a brief report regarding the progress is as follows.
The Solar City Plan Dehradun has been approved from Ministry of New & Renewal Energy and progress is under process.
Draft Master Plan has been prepared and final would be prepared approximately with in a month.
The solar city cell has been formed at Nagar Nigam level and cell is working on organizing stakeholder meeting regarding the implementation.
With the co-ordination of Mussoorie Dehradun Devlopment Authority, Solar Energy Traffic Signals have been installed on PPP model and work is under process for installing more Solar Energy Traffic Signals.
A stretch of around 2kms on Chakrata road has been covered with LED street lighting. Total numbers of 160 LED lamps of 70 W with decorative polls have been installed. The project cost is Rs.86.45 Lakh. Installation has been combined with five years of maintenance.
The project has been partly funded by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Govt. of India.
